What To Expect

At this stage, you will have met with a member of the Up To Me Chatbot research team to confirm eligibility status, complete the consent, and participate in an orientation to the study and chatbot prototype. The online pre-survey includes questions regarding demographic information, your technology readiness, and mental health assessments.

Next, you will complete lessons 1-3 of the Up To Me program using the chatbot prototype. As a reminder, You will be compensated $30 for completing the pre-survey and participating in all three Up To Me lessons when interacting with the prototype chatbot. Partial compensation will be provided if not all lessons are completed ($10 per lesson).

Approximately 30 days, or 1 month, from the date of consent, you will be asked to complete the online follow-up survey, which will include many of the same assessments from the pre-survey as well as additional items to obtain feedback regarding the use of the chatbot for disclosure deliberation.

You will also need to complete the Booster lesson at follow-up. As a reminder,  you will be compensated $15 for completing the booster and follow-up survey.

If you opted in and are selected to participate in a follow-up interview, we will ask you a series of questions to obtain more detailed feedback on the chatbot, including its perceived effectiveness for achieving the learning objectives of the three Up To Me lessons and impressions of the feasibility and acceptability of the chatbot. Participants who complete an interview will be compensated $20.

Compensation will be processed on a rolling basis as lessons are self-paced. Please allow 5 -10 business days between each lesson for compensation to be processed and sent to you. Contact the project coordinator if you are still waiting to receive compensation after 10 business days.
